What is Biblical Believing?

Can one hear the Word, and say they believe the Word, and not be DOERS of the Word? Certainly not!

I've endeavored to encourage many professed believers, some in our own faith who weren't keeping the clear commandments of Yahweh Elohim's word such as Leviticus 23's assembling of Yahweh's people for holy purposes on feast days such as the sabbath or chapter 11's eating clean to repent and do so. One person gave me a short rebuttal. The rebuttal went like this. The person opened up their Bible to perhaps the most often cited verses used in modern day Christianity. A verse that many would say needs no introduction,:

John 3:16 For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

The person than turned back to me and stated, it says all I need to do is just believe.

Now there are a couple reasons why a person may responds this way. Either they've already heard the truth and are in stubborn fleshly rebellion against doing the revealed truth, or they are genuinely deceived by false manmade law abolishing teaching and ignorant of the revealed truth found in Yahweh's Word. If they they are just in fleshly rebellion against the known truth, and are not open to exposure to possible correction, we must knock the dust off our feet and move on; but if they are the genuinely deceived and are willing to hear out your possible correction, what do you say to such a person? How do you approach the ignorance of their mind that says I just have to believe? Led by the Spirit, you might start by helping them answer the question...

What is Biblical Believing, or what does true belief mean to our Heavenly Father?

What does believing look like? In John 3, just a couple verses later on the same topic the Word of Yahweh says...

Without defining terms, without understanding words as defined by the Bible, we are at risk of producing an empty and meaningless faith… and nobody should want that…if you want a Purpose Driven Life’, the words of the Bible which Yahweh Elohim defines as His instruction that completes us in every good work, and a loving relationship with the author of the Bible, should be what drives the purpose of our life… Many people today know in the back of their minds, they are missing something more in their faith. They realize that what they are being taught is truth, but is it the whole truth? It does not have to be that way…it is a frustrating feeling…but, what is the solution? As Hosea correctly said:

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Yahweh’s Word is the knowledge that we need; yet so often we fail to biblically define the terms that we are reading. When we do this the unfortunate truth is that Scripture is rendered meaningless at best, or at worst, we subject Yahweh's Word to our own bias or this decade’s latest manmade theology teaching. Due to our own ignorance, knowledge is then hidden from us within the writings of the scriptures. Here is the cornerstone of Biblical interpretation and understanding, THE BIBLE DEFINES ITSELF. It has a built-in glossary that can prevent error, should we be so inclined to use it. Let’s read John 3: 20-21 again that explains what “believing” looks like.

John 3:20-21 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in Elohim.”

Here we have two terms that must be defined by the Bible: Truth and light… What truth?

Psalm 119:142 And Your law (in Hebrew “Torah”) is truth.

That is simple enough…the law (Elohim's Torah/instruction) equals truth. What is the light?

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, And the law (Torah) a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

It is hard to misunderstand that definition…the law equals light and it is our way of life. How the Bible defines terms is very important, because it is through those definitions that we extract understanding. So let’s review this one more time…. the law is truth. Because it is truth it is the instruction that is to guide us as our way of life. Walking in that life is the light that guides our path and keeps us out of darkness. So according to the Bible, the law is the way, the truth, the life, and the light. But wait…you might say. That sounds exactly like Yahshua. YES!!! That is 100% right! So many miss this! HE IS THE WORD IN THE FLESH!

John 1:14 And the Word(Logos) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

logos:(Def Gr) a word (as embodying an idea), a statement, a speech

So if Elohim's Law/Torah which in the Hebrew means (Instruction) is Yahweh's written Word, speech, statements or ideas, than Yahshua is the living embodiment of Elohim's Word, speech, statements or ideas.

Revelation 19:13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of Elohim

…Our Lord Yahshua returns as the very same Word of Elohim that He was in the first century. Is not the Law of Elohim also the Word of Elohim? Isaiah said:

Isaiah 2:3 For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.

The Messiah is the Way, Truth, Life, and Light because HE IS THE Living embodiment of the ideas and statements written in Elohim's WORD. He taught the Word, The Law (Torah) which is the written expression or witness of who and what Messiah Yahshua(Elohim in the Flesh) is. Yahshua practiced the Word, He corrected from the Word. He instructed us to follow and walk in the same exact example of the Word as Him; if we are His disciples.

(picture: Yahshua teaching the Law of Elohim)

Please consider this, because this is important. The Master Yahshua did not teach and do everything He did during His whole ministry just to say “never mind”…do a different Word of Elohim now…

He did not say that we are to ignore the Word of Elohim and that He came to make a new Word of Elohim.

In the first century, mainstream Jewish theology was following the traditions of the elders and the doctrines of men that were against the Law of Yahweh Elohim. For hundreds of years men had it wrong. Their writings and seminaries of the day written by hundreds of very smart and influential people, convinced people of poor theology. So here was Our Creator’s solution to fix the first century error in their applying and understanding the Law of Elohim…we find that the Law of Elohim, the way, the truth, the life, the light, actually showed up live and in person, and walked out Elohim’s law right in front of them. Then to top it off, this also qualified Him to take our sins on the tree of death for us.

If you've been indoctrinated, by the manmade Law abolishing theology of todays mainstream Christianity, you might say:

“The Law of Elohim? …I thought I had freedom by faith in Messiah.

YES!!! You do have freedom! We all do! But does the Word of Yahweh define that Freedom we have in Messiah as freedom from Elohim’s law? Elohim Forbid!...

Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

It is because of Yahshua Messiah that we are free to uphold and establish the law in our lives! Before we were cursed by our weak sinful fleshly nature which stopped us from having the freedom to "establish the law ", but now through faith, Messiah Yahshua came to free us from the curse of our sin and to teach us how to not sin. Elohim's written Word defines Sin as breaking Yahweh Elohim’s law,...

1 John 3:4. Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

Sin is bondage! Yahweh Elohim’s law is not bondage! How could obedience to Elohim’s law be bondage and then sin also be bondage? Yahweh’s law defines sin. If Yahweh's Law is bondage, this would mean if we are obedient to Yahweh’s law we are in bondage, but if we break Yahweh’s law (sin), we are also practicing bondage. Messiah Yahshua is freedom because Messiah is the embodiment of Yahweh's law, (the Word /Logos, in the flesh) and the LAW OF ELOHIM IS FREEDOM.

Psalm 119:44-45 So shall I keep Your law continually, Forever and ever. And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts.

Yahweh Elohim defines Himself through His communicated word, ideas or statements, and instructions written in the Torah itself. The Law of Elohim, isn't just some Word, or any word, it is THE Word, The communicated expression of Elohim Himself. It is the Way, it is the Truth, it is the Life, it is the Light and also as you just read, it is freedom. It is liberty. Messiah Yahshua is the Law of Elohim, the Word, in the flesh, the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Light and freedom. We’re not making this up. This is what the Bible says. When Messiah Yahshua dwells in our heart as the Ruach Hacodesh or Holy Spirit, that means that the Law of Elohim is in our heart. Remember, the Law of Yahweh Elohim in our heart is the WHOLE PURPOSE of the New Covenant:

Hebrew 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people.

That’s just quoting Jeremiah 31. Again, confused by the manmade law abolishing theology of today's mainstream Christianity, you might say, but “I thought we were supposed to be led by the Spirit and be spiritual, not to do Elohim’s law…” Again, we have another problem generated by false manmade teachings, instead of letting the Bible define the terms for us… Remember, that the Bible teaches, that helping us to follow after and keep Elohim’s law is the whole purpose of Yahweh's Spirit. Yahweh's Law defines for us what being spiritual looks like. Being spiritual is following after, and keeping Elohim’s law:

Ezekiel 36:26-27 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

This is what Romans 8 is all about.

Romans 8:2 Because through Messiah Yahshua the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

We are no longer under the law of sin and death, (the curse of the old fleshly nature) but instead, we are led by the Spirit to follow after Elohim’s law which the Bible defines as the way the truth and the life. Galatians 5:18 says the same thing! We are led by the Spirit and thus we are no longer under the law of sin and death.

Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The Spiritual (Elohim’s law) produces good fruit. The flesh (which is against Elohim’s spiritual law, puts us under the law of sin and death) produces corrupt fruit.

Remember, Elohim's Law is Spiritual!

Romans 7:14 We know that the Law is Spiritual

The Spiritual person is to be walking in the Law of Elohim, the Torah, not against it! The one who is against the Law of Elohim is walking after the flesh…

Romans 8:7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward Elohim; for it does not subject itself to the law of Elohim, for it is not even able to do so,

Those who do not walk according to the law of Yahweh have a fleshly mind that is hostile toward Yahweh Elohim! This is written everywhere in the Bible. It is the Spirit led mind that loves the law of Elohim and goes after it. It is those living in the fleshly mind that hate the law of Elohim and are against it. See what happens if we do not define Biblical terms by using the Bible? What happens is we form false mainstream doctrines of men that suddenly pit the Messiah Yahshua against the Law of Elohim, when in all Biblical defined reality; Messiah Yahshua is the same as the Law of Elohim; which is the written expression of Himself.

Our flesh does not like to hear this at all, but the flesh does not like Truth. As we read, the flesh does not like the law of Elohim. Your flesh is going to hate this message. It will not tickle or sound fun or pleasurable to your fleshly ears. It’s not going to tickle, sound fun or pleasurable to your friend’s fleshly ears, your family’s fleshly ears, or even your Pastor’s fleshly ears. Yet, he that hath a Spirit led ear, let him hear what the Spirit says. The same Messiah Yahshua we claim to love and believe in is the living embodiment of the same written Word expression of Himself that some claiming to follow Him teach against. Yahshua is the same seed, the same light, the same way, the same life, the same truth, he is the same freedom, he is the same rock that Moses and the children of Israel in the wilderness had; but Many lacked the kind of belief or faith that produced obedience to Elohim's Law.

1 Corinthians 10:4,"and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Messiah.5Nevertheless, Elohim was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness.…"

We're not going to read them, but If you put Hebrews 11 and James 2, together, Elohim's Word defines true faith as works producing faith, without which it is impossible to please Elohim. The same rock that Moses had is the same rock that is to be in us and to rule our life as true law keeping believers in faith.

The same seed, the same light, the same way, the same life, the same truth, the same freedom, the same rock, these are all Biblical metaphors for Yahshua who is the Word and the Law of Elohim.

We cannot make up new definitions. We cannot pretend that Messiah used already Scripturally established terms and then turned them into something else. From the Bibles defined point of view, the spiritual character of Messiah Yahshua and the written Law of Elohim are metaphorically one and the same thing.

(if you agree with the following questions then I want you sitting at home with your Zoom service on mute to say Yes!!!)

Do you love Messiah? Then you love the Law of Elohim which is the written expression of His character.

Do you hate sin? Then you love the Law of Elohim.

Do you believe in Elohim? Then you believe in the whole Word, which includes the Law of Elohim.

Are you led by the Spirit? Then you are led to follow the Law of Elohim.

Do you hate the desires of the flesh? Then you love the Law of Elohim.

Are you spiritual? Then you are walking in Elohim’s law, the Torah.

All too often we try to separate the terms already Biblically defined for us. We fail to apply the knowledge already given to us in the Old Testament front of the Book. Remember what we read earlier from Hosea?

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

What knowledge are we to comprehend? Let’s finally finish that verse:

Hosea 4:6 Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law (Torah) of your Elohim, I also will forget your children.

Yahweh Elohim is talking to those who were His chosen people; His elect. Now that we know how to Biblically define terms, let’s read again what John wrote a few verses after John 3:16. Let’s see what believing looks like using the terms the Bible defined for us…

John 3:20-21 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in Elohim.”

Can we redefine these terms outside of Scripture? Is that what John intended? Did John just throw away the Biblical definitions of "light" and "truth" as the Law of Elohim? Is that even logical?

We understand that the Light and the Truth is Messiah Yahshua but then we often stop at that and because we stop we miss all of the wonderful instruction and understanding that was intended to come out of that. Believing in Elohim is loving the law and the Word (and the Lord Yahshua is the Word made flesh) Believing the Word to be true is the same as hating sin (which is breaking Yahweh Elohim's law) Evidence of loving the law is doing the law and evidence of hating sin is not sinning. Can one claim belief that the WHOLE WORD OF ELOHIM IS TRUE and intentionally not DO the Word of Elohim? That would be the definition of a walking oxymoron. It would be hypocritical! If you haven't already, you should later read what our Messiah said to the Pharisees in Matthew 23…because this is what they did…this is the theology that they taught… He commanded in Mathew 23 that we are to observe and do what Moses taught but not do the false manmade traditions and doctrines of the Pharisees.

Are we not to do everything our Lord commanded and also teach it to the nations? (Matthew 28:19-20)

What we do outwardly, is the evidence of what we believe internally. If one does not DO the Word then they DO NOT believe the Word to be truth.

Our actions define for others our inward beliefs.

When you love the Way, Truth, Life, Light, and Liberty, you love both our Messiah and the Law of Elohim because they are the Biblically defined written expression and personal embodiment of the one and same living Elohim; and can NOT be separated against each other.

Loving Yahshua = Loving Elohim's law (Yahshua = Word [LOGOS/TORAH] made flesh: John 1)

Hating sin = Loving Elohim's law (1 John 3:4)

Loving Elohim = Doing Elohim's law (1 John 5:2-3)

Not only did our Messiah die on Calvary's tree as a manifestation of Elohim's grace to us (His love for us), but Messiah taught us how to love by modeling the law of Yahweh Elohim, as EVERY commandment (not just some), every commandment of Elohim hangs off of loving Elohim and loving others (Matthew 22:40).

Walking as Yahshua walked means walking the same instructions that Yahshua walked (1 John 2:6).

This is why ALL Scripture is instruction in righteousness (not just some of it) (1 Timothy 3:16).

That includes the Old Testament front of the book. From a Biblical standpoint, believers are to do what they believe and believe what they do. We are called to believe the Word of Elohim as truth, not to believe that the Word of Elohim is now false and abolished. Yahweh Elohim and Yahshua are the same Word that the Bible declares is the Word, and we either accept our faith in Elohim (the Word) as truth or not. We cannot pretend that some of the Word is no longer the Word of Elohim. We cannot pick and choose, If Yahweh Elohim is the Word, then how can we say that SOME OF Elohim is TRUE and some is not true?

That makes no sense. He is either the Word or He is not. Our Lord is not just part of or a sample of the Word. Our faith in Yahshua who is the Word, saves us because we can never DO anything to save ourselves. That is what grace means, unmerited favor. At the same time, our faith is also in the Word which is the written expression or witness of the living Word made flesh. Can we have faith in a Word that we refuse or not want to do? What faith is that? Faith means we believe the scriptures which are Elohim's own spiritual, and divinely inspired written expression of truth about Himself (the living Word); and we commit to them as truth. When it comes to celebrating Christmas, Easter, or valentines Day, or not keeping Yahweh's feast days such as the sabbath, and not eating clean...

In our faith, can we continue to do things CONTRARY to the truth? What faith would that be?

Our faith in the Word is our inward belief…but any true inward belief becomes outward practice.

Just a few hundred years ago so many in the protestant movement seemed fine with just taking one step out of the Great Harlot of Rome and into the Bible; but why stop short of believing and doing the whole Bible? It is time to come out of Babylon's darkness and the bondage of refusing the law of Elohim. It's time to experience the full blessings and rewards of living His way, His truth, His life, His light and His freedom. We pretend that Yahshua as the Word of Elohim does not include the Law of Elohim in the Word of Elohim, that suddenly the definition changed, even though Elohim's Word teaches no such thing. Nor would it make any sense.

If we are to follow Yahshua then we are to follow the Word of Elohim. It does not get any simpler than this.

John 12:49For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”

Messiah Yahshua said that He did not speak His own Word for a reason, so that we did not think He was speaking His own Word. He was and is the same Word that was already defined in writing as the Word.

And now that we know that, are we to believe and practice the whole Word of Elohim, or just some of it?

Let’s conclude with

Some questions to consider:

1) Is Yahshua the Word in the flesh?

2) Did Yahshua only speak the Father's Word in the Father's authority?

3) Is Yahshua (the Word) the same yesterday, today and forever?

4) Is Elohim the Word and can Elohim not change?

5) Is Leviticus 11 and 23 part of the Word of Elohim?

6) Can Leviticus 11 and 23 change?

Does your theology correctly answer ‘yes’ to questions 1-4 but fail at questions numbers 5-6? That is just something to consider. May Yahweh's message blessed you Shalom
