- Shalom saints! I still thank and praise Yahweh that we are back together again. You can’t praise Yahweh enough!

- So let us all shout and praise our most High!!!!!

- So, today, Yah willing we’ll talk about habits to keep you hot! What does hot mean? Let’s look at some Scripture.

There are Yahshua’s words

““And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of Elohim’s creation. 15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”

Revelation 3:14-16 ESV

What is the next yearly feast? What feast is coming in about a week’s time?

Pentecost / Shavuot, right?

Pentecost- Holy Spirit fire!

“When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:1-4 ESV

We just looked at hotness and fire! You know something? Fire is always hot! Fire is also bright!

Being hot means being filled with the Holy Spirit! It means being zealous for Yahweh!

The reason we should talk about this is because some of you started getting cold, some of you were struggling during the time that we were not together.

I believe the reason for that is because of negative habits or the lack of positive habits that keep you hot.

In this assembly we have been preaching for years about reading your Bible, about developing a personal relationship with Yahweh, about praying daily, and all that was because that’s how the man/woman of Yahweh is supposed to be.

If you have healthy habits, you can keep hot even during times when the assembly can’t gather together.

People sometimes use the example of burning coals or burning logs as an analogy for the church.

If you take a burning coal away from the rest of the coals, the coal starts to cool off. Eventually, it will stop glowing and will become cold and dark.

That analogy is alright, but it’s not perfect.

The reason why it’s not prefect is because it assumes that the hotness of a believer comes from us gathering together.

Now, when we are gathered together, we can encourage one another.

When one of us is feeling down, or spiritually hungry or thirsty, he/she can be filled with spiritual food and drink, songs, testimonies, and teaching.

But, Yahweh’s fire is a supernatural fire! Just like the burning bush that Moses found, that bush that kept on burning but was not being consumed, Yahweh’s fire can keep the saint burning whether the saint is in church or not.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t gather. If I said that I would be violating the commandments, which tell us to gather.

I’m saying that you shouldn’t become cold, just because we cannot gather.

Yahweh loves community. The church is a community. Heaven is a community. The only reason we shouldn’t gather is in cases like the pandemic or similar.

Even that was only for a few months.

You shouldn’t become cold because we cannot attend church services for a few months.

Yahweh is a Sustainer

Yahweh is a sustainer. Moses was on Mount Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights eating nothing and drinking nothing and Yahweh sustained him.

The three Hebrew boys Mishak, Shadrech and Abednego were in the fire and Yahweh sustained them.

The same power that sustained Moses, the same power that sustained the Hebrew boys is the same power that sustains believers today.

It’s the same power that sustained the burning bush without consuming it.

(Do you remember the sermon on the trees that Pastor Micah did?)

It’s the same power. Holy Spirit power. Holy Spirit fire. Burning without being consumed!

I’m afraid that some of you may have more confidence in the church than in Yahweh and that is not a good thing.

If you had developed good habits before the pandemic, you would have remained hot during the pandemic.

When you receive the Holy Spirit, fire is placed in you. But you must keep fanning the flames!

Don’t quench the Spirit. Don’t grow cold.

Yahweh is a sustainer!

Let’s look at these verses in Isa 40. Verses 28-31.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting Elohim, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for [look eagerly for] Yahweh shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

I know we have talked about these things, but we still need a reminder. I feel like many of us know things mentally, but we don’t practice them.

So, we’ll talk about a few habits. If we practice these habits, we’ll find ourselves strong in the time of testing.

The good thing about these habits is that they work. This is not chance. Saints don’t get hot and stay hot by chance. No!

Saints follow the Scriptures and they get what the Scriptures say they get.

The time to develop a strong relationship with Yahweh and be filled with the Spirit is during a time of peace, a time when there’s no pandemic.

So that when war comes, when a time of testing comes, when a pandemic comes, you’re already practicing those habits and you can remain hot.

First Habit

“And He [Yahshua] said to all, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”

Luke 9:23 ESV

Daily means habit.

Following Yahshua daily is a habit.

Speak freely...

Ask elders to give examples of dying daily…

You could ask other saints…

Second Habit

“And He [Yahshua] came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was His custom, He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and He stood up to read.”

Luke 4:16 ESV

Going to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, gathering with the saints of the Sabbath day was Yahshua’s custom.

Is it a custom for you?

These are habits that help keep you hot.

Yahshua was human just like you. He could have grown cold too.

But He kept hot by following these habits. Nobody should have to force you or encourage you to gather with the saints on the Sabbath day.

If Yahshua is in you, and you are dying daily, yielding to what the Spirit says, you will want to keep the Sabbath day.

Speak freely...

Missing Sabbath gatherings because you overslept or because you didn’t manage your time and energy well during the week was not Yahshua’s way.

If Yahshua is in you, and Yahshua’s doesn’t change, and you’re being transformed into His image daily, keeping Sabbath gatherings should become a custom for you too.

You’re following Yahshua and Yahshua is going to Sabbath gatherings every week, then obviously you’ll be at the Sabbath gathering too.

Third Habit

“But now even more the report about Him [Yahshua] went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear Him and to be healed of their infirmities. 16 But He would withdraw to desolate places and pray.”

Luke 5:15-16 ESV

Prayer alone with Yahweh is another habit that will keep the believer hot!

Yahshua drawing away from the crowds, away from the disciples to be alone with the Father and pray was His habit.

Some versions have the word “often” in their translations. This was Yahshua’s habit.

Believers ought to have prayer time alone with Yahshua. Alone with Yahweh. Away from other saints, away from the children, away from the parents, away from your spouse, alone with Yahweh.

If the only time you pray is when you’re with other people, you have a bad habit.

That’s not a good habit.

Prayer with Yahweh alone is necessary for the believer.

Yes spouses should pray together, families should pray together, the church should pray together, but those individuals should also pray alone with Yahweh.

This should be a daily thing.

Speak freely. Give examples.

I pray before I get out of bed…

I pray after work, thanking Yahweh…

I pray at work…

I try to pray in the car…

Fourth and Final Habit

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of Yahweh, and on His law he meditates day and night.”

Psalm 1:1-2 ESV

The fourth habit is delighting in the law of Yahweh and meditating on it day and night.

Day and night imply a habit.

Note that the Scriptures say meditate. To meditate is to think about what you read, how it can be applied to your life, and how you can apply it right away.

If I were to ask you, “So, what have you been reading in the Scriptures lately?”

You should be able to tell me right away.

I’m reading 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel right now, and I can see without a doubt how Yahweh is always with the man or woman who obeys His commandments.

I have seen with my own eyes and experienced with my own life how Yahweh will always be with the man or woman who follows Him and obeys His commandments.

It’s wonderful to see the Word come to life.

I’ve also started to watch many documentaries on YouTube about Bible places and what they look like today and what happened there and it is amazing to see that Yahweh’s is true!

Speak freely...

What do you watch on YouTube most of the time? If we pull up your Watch History, what will we find?

What you do daily matters!

The time has now come to no longer speak in parables but to speak plainly. We have now entered the latter days of the end times.

Satan’s activity is increased. He wants to pluck as many people away from the truth.

This is not a time to be growing cold or losing your faith. You cannot be like the five foolish virgins. You must keep your lamp burning hot until Messiah comes!

We must get back to the habits of our first love and continue those habits.

Speak freely…

You can ask the saints what some of their habits are...

If you don’t practice these habits, start. If you are doing them, continue.

Believe me when I tell you that this is a terrible time to start getting cold or to lose your faith.

If you have doubts ask the elders, talk to mature saints. Don’t be alone with Satan. Satan can make you think crazy thoughts.

The one thing he wants is to take away your faith so you could be in the Lake of Fire with him. You must say NO to that!

If you have doubts, ask the elders. Yahweh is not afraid of being questioned.

This is not a time to grow cold or lose your faith. We’re in the latter days now before the coming of Messiah.

I think I will preach more about the end times now than ever before.

Don’t grow cold or lose your faith. Practice these habits we just talked about.

Be found faithful when Messiah comes.

Yahweh bless you all!
