Rewards for Yahweh’s Servants

The Scriptures tell us that Yahweh rewards His saints.

When Yehoshua comes, He will come with rewards.

Revelation 22:12 NKJV “And behold, I [Yehoshua] am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”

Yahweh is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 NKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him [Yahweh], for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

But Yahweh also sits as Judge over all the earth. As the Judge, He judges and gives sentences. Those sentences are rewards.

Psalm 75:7 KJV But God is the Judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Psalm 28:4 ESV Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.

There are two kinds of people in the whole world. Yes, just two. Believer and Unbeliever. The Scriptures expresses them in different ways, but it is talking about the same thing.

All these mean the same things. They mean believer or unbeliever.

Gifts and Rewards

Now, Yahweh gives gifts and He also gives rewards. Gifts and rewards are different.

Rewards are based on what you do. Rewards are wages. They are earned. They are payment for your actions.

Gifts are not earned. They are given because of Yahweh’s grace, His undeserved favor.

Rewards are given to servants for their actions. Gifts are given to children because of the grace of their Father. An inheritance is a gift.

Believers in Yahweh are Children of Yahweh.

John 1:12 ESV But to all who did receive Him [Yehoshua], who believed in His Name, He gave the right [power/authority] to become children of Elohim,

Those who believe must also receive the Holy Spirit. Then they are sealed or marked as children of the Most High.

We are adopted into the family of Yah and we can call Him Father. By His grace, He gives us an inheritance.

That inheritance is a gift. It is not something we work for, it is not something we earn. It is something Yahweh gives to us by His grace.

So, what is our inheritance? Does anyone know.

Deuteronomy 10:9 ESV Therefore Levi has no portion or inheritance with his brothers. Yahweh is his inheritance, as Yahweh your Elohim said to him.

In the New Covenant, we are all priests unto Yahweh. The New Covenant under Yehoshua HaMashiac is a better covenant. It is better than the Old Covenant and the priesthood under Yehoshua, our High Priest, is a better priesthood.

Yahweh Himself is our inheritance!

--- Speak through me, oh Holy Spirit ---

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek…

Believers in Yahweh are also Servants of Yahweh

Yahweh has called us to good works. We are born again to serve Him. Just as Messiah was both a Son and a Servant of Yahweh, so we also who belong to Messiah are sons and servants of Yahweh.

Mark 10:45 ESV For even the Son of Man [Son of God, God Himself, Daniel 7] came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Let us focus on the rewards we are to get as servants of the Most High.

We are co-laborers or coworkers with Yahweh. We have not been called to do nothing. We have been called to work.

The work that we do has an impact on the rewards we will get as servants.

1 Corinthians 3:4 – 17 ESV This Yah willing will be our main passage.

Holy Spirit --- help me explain each section --- according to Your Will

4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?

5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each.

6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor.

9 For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building [church].

10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.

11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Yehoshua the Messiah.

12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13 each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.

14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.

15 If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

16 Do you not know that you are Elohim’s temple and that Elohim’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys Elohim’s temple, Elohim will destroy him. For Elohim’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.

We build on the foundation, which is Yehoshua the Messiah.

--- Speak to me, oh Yahweh, what is work that is gold, silver, and precious stones?

Your Spiritual gift! Working in your Spiritual gifts is gold-standard work!

--- Speak to me, oh Yahweh, what is work that is wood, hay, and stubble?

Examples of Gold-Standard Work

Crown of Righteousness

2 Timothy 4:5 - 8 ESV [Paul to Timothy] As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Crown of Glory

1 Peter 5 ESV

1 So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed:

2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as Elohim would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly;

3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

The work that Yehoshua the Master will honor is work that is built on Him. It is work that edifies the church.

Your Ministry

2 Timothy 4:5 ESV [Paul to Timothy] As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Do you know what your ministry is?

We are all given a Spiritual gift, which is for the edification of the church.

--- Speak through me, oh Yah ---

Is What I’m Doing Now My Spiritual Gift?

How do you know if what you are doing now is one of your Spiritual gifts?

Simple: Is it edifying the Church? Is what you are doing building up the Church?

1 Corinthians 14, Ephesians 4 – All gifts are for the edification of the church.

The church must grow by your work. The church must be built up by your actions. All work in the Church must be done by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

What if You Do Not Know What Your Spiritual Gift is?

1 Timothy 4:14 NKJV Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

But do not neglect the gift that is in you.

What Does Neglecting Your Gift Look Like?

Neglect in Greek: Strong’s 272, HELPS Word-studies 272 ameléō (from 1 /A "not" and 3199 /mélō, "have concern, be affected") – properly, without concern, unaffected, viewing something as being without significance, i.e. without perceived value ("of no moment").

In closing, let us look at the Parable of the Talents.

Matthew 25 ESV [The words of Yehoshua]

14“For it [The Kingdom of Heaven] will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.

15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.

16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more.

18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’

21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much [reward]. Enter into the joy of your master [reward].’

22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’

23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much [reward]. Enter into the joy of your master [reward].’

24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’

26 But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest [some work: wood, hay, straw].

28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Fulfill Your Ministry.

Yahweh be with you.
