Biblical Feasts and New Moons

We believe in celebrating Yahweh's holy feasts as commanded in Leviticus 23, as well as observing Yahweh's new moons.

Eighth Day

Friday, October 25, 2024

1. Sabbath

The weekly Sabbath is part of the Feasts of Yahweh as commanded in Leviticus 23. The Sabbath Day is observed every week on the seventh day from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday.

2. New Moons

While new moons aren't feasts as described in Leviticus 23, they are almost always tied to the Sabbaths and appointed feasts as shown in 1 Chronicles 23:31, 2 Chronicles 2:4, Ezra 3:5, Colossians 2:16, and in many other verses. Therefore to be in line with Scripture, we have added them here.

New moons are new months. Yahweh's months begin with the new moon.

3. Feast of Unleavened Bread

The Feast of Unleavened Bread commemorates the rescue of the nation of Israel from Egypt. It is the beginning of faith for everyone who comes to the Savior.

4. Pentecost

Shavuot, sometimes called the “Feast of Weeks” and commonly called “Pentecost”, remembers the giving of the Law to Moses. That was the first time that the very words and commandments of Yahweh were written down.

5. Trumpets

Yom Teruah, the Feast of Trumpets, marks the beginning of the Fall Feasts. It is a day of great celebration and the blowing of trumpets. This feast reminds us to blow the trumpet, to share the words of Messiah and to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven.

6. Atonement

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is considered the highest of the yearly feasts. It is a solemn day that looks at the atoning sacrifice of Messiah Yahshua.

7. Tabernacles

Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, is a feast of great celebration. The Feast commemorates the wanderings of the children of Israel in the desert and were provided for by Yahweh. It also reminds us that we are on a journey to the Promised Land and that our stay here on earth is a wandering. It also looks forward to the coming of Messiah and Him “tabernacling” with us.

8. Eighth Day

Shemini Atzeret, the Eight Day, is usually called “The Last Great Day.” It is the eighth day after the Feast of Tabernacles but is its own separate feast.

The Last Great Day looks to eternity when Yahshua will make all things new. There are only seven days in a week which makes up for all counting. So, the eighth day is a new day for a new creation.
